Taylor's redesigned 812ce 12-Fret Grand Concert V-Class acoustic-electric guitar is the culmination of almost half a century of experience and research. The 812ce 12-Fret Grand Concert V-Class features Indian rosewood back and sides, premium-grade Sitka spruce top, mahogany neck with ebony fretboard, and a pearl inlay design. Taylor went back to the drawing board to create V-Class bracing, which helps balance string-to-string volume, and increases sustain too. Everyone at Sweetwater is impressed with how the 812ce 12-Fret Grand Concert V-Class guitar sounds unplugged, especially with its natural 12-fret projection. You'll love the sound of Taylor's updated Expression System 2 at your plugged-in gigs. The Taylor 812ce 12-Fret Grand Concert V-Class Grand Concert has a robust output, dynamic range, and sensitive response for all types of players.
V-class bracing: a sonic revelation
Bracing is the internal framework of an acoustic guitar that helps shape its sound. Although X-bracing has been standard in acoustic guitars for over a century, it creates an innate conflict between two key elements of a guitar’s sound: volume and sustain. The guitar's top (its soundboard) contributes to both. The flexibility of the top generates volume (projection), while its stiffness generates sustain. And with X-braced guitar tops, here's where the tradeoff comes in: when something is made stiffer, its flexibility is reduced (and vice versa).

V-class bracing changes all that. With Taylor's V-class bracing, an acoustic guitar top can be both stiff and flexible — for more volume and sustain. V-class bracing provides stiffness parallel to the strings for more rigidity and, hence, sustain. Flexibility on either side generates the air movement necessary for robust projection. It's the best of both worlds. This groundbreaking innovation also improves intonation, not only producing notes that are louder and with longer sustain — but also more in tune with each other.

Super-comfortable Grand Concert body style provides excellent tonal balance
Taylor's Grand Concert body style gives you clarity, focus, and balanced tone that sits beautifully in thicker arrangements where a larger-bodied acoustic would take up too much real estate. The 812ce 12-Fret Grand Concert V-Class's modified bracing and shorter scale length give you a darker and punchier tone than the standard 14-fret model. At the same time, the way the neck joins the body at the 12th fret adds serious natural acoustic projection to this instrument. All told, the 812ce 12-Fret Grand Concert V-Class is a wonderful choice if you want a smaller-bodied guitar with a full-bodied sound.
Taylor Expression System 2 electronics deliver superior sound onstage
If you play plugged in, then you're going to love the Taylor Expression System 2 (ES2) electronics built into your 812ce 12-Fret Grand Concert V-Class acoustic-electric guitar. The key to this fantastic system is the 3-section proprietary pickup located behind the saddle. Because of where it's positioned and how it's integrated into the 812ce 12-Fret Grand Concert V-Class's saddle, the ES2 pickup provides you with remarkably clear and accurate sound. In addition to a master volume control, a pair of tone controls let you tweak your highs and lows to get the sound you need, and a discreet phase switch offers vital onboard feedback suppression. Sweetwater knows that your plugged-in tone is important to you, and we're confident that the Taylor 812ce 12-Fret Grand Concert V-Class has the sound you want.
